Cowlitz County Event CenterCase study · Luxodd · Venue sales

From a demo on the floor
to a cabinet that stays.

Venues do not buy arcade cabinets from a deck. They buy after they have seen one earn on their own floor. So that is how I sold them: find the venue, show the product, run the trial, close the placement.

The situation

A new kind of machine, and a buyer who has been burned before.

A bowling centre or an event venue has seen every kind of coin-op pitch. The owner wants to know three things: does it earn, will my staff cope, and what happens when it breaks. A Rook cabinet costs $8,000, and the venue keeps 70% of what it earns, so the economics work. The job was to prove it on their floor.

I ran venue sales as the only salesperson: the list, the first call, the demo, the trial and the terms.

What I did

Three venues, one playbook.

The same four moves closed a bowling centre, an entertainment venue and a county event center.

01

Qualify before the call

I cut 21,600 Oregon liquor-permit holders down to 687 venues of the right type and size, then worked them by phone and email after a fit check.

Evergreen Bowling Lanes

My outreach on 4 August got this reply: “Alright salesmen, show me your wares.” I ran the demo, handled the buyer’s questions and the schedule, and a cabinet was placed in September. Evergreen then introduced Luxodd to the bowling industry association, BPAA.

Big Al’s

After an on-site demo I secured a one-month floor trial with a Wi-Fi test. The trial became a permanent placement.

Cowlitz County Event Center

An event demo and promotion at the center turned interest into a closed relationship.

Hand it on

I wrote the venue pitch and the trial steps down, and trained two junior BDRs to run them.

2 BDRs

“Venues do not buy from a deck.
They buy after it earns on their floor.”

What it shows

What you get when you hire me.

01

I sell in person

Floor demos, trials and follow-up visits, not just sequences.

02

I de-risk the yes

A one-month trial is an easy decision. A permanent placement follows a good trial.

03

I open doors for the company

One happy venue introduced us to its whole industry association.
